Interactive furniture piece fostering a unique social space created when two people sit across from each other, enjoy a simple and satisfying sorting task and chat. This piece sets in motion activities that serve the community in small but concrete ways. Neighbors contribute mixed-up nuts, bolts nails, etc. (cleaning out old drawers). Participants then sort, package and make hardware available to others for do-it-yourself projects. 1996-99.

For people inclined to sorting, the percussive sound of nuts and bolts hitting the bottom of suspended muffin tins makes it difficult to keep hands away.
