Collaborative art river built in the de Young Museum's Kimball Gallery during four week artist residency. Serving as both lead artist and facilitator Gavin worked with child and adult patrons to build the most complex art river landscape to date. The challenge of pumping 75 gallons of open water around a million dollar room with brand new eucalyptus floors, required a new level of control. Visible through floor to ceiling windows facing the Music Concourse, progress of the river landscape was visible to casual passers by. During a lecture on interactive public art in the Koret auditorium, Gavin also announced his intention to manufacture furniture and play rivers under the Riveropolis logo.
